Homewood is a place that is as much our second home as it is a restaurant. Our menu begins with the local farmer; taking their produce and preparing it in such a way that each dish becomes both familiar and memorable. We believe in authentic hospitality, delicious food and the happiness that can come from gathering around a great meal. We look forward to welcoming you soon.

Matt McCallister

The youngest of three sons, Matt grew up planting vegetables and pruning flowers underneath the citrus trees in his families garden. Like many of us, Matt learned to cook from his mom, something he now enjoys doing with his own children. Having never gone to culinary school, Matt has made his way through the culinary landscape by training, cooking and leading some of the best kitchens in America.

Matt finds great joy from the simple pleasures of cooking; working hand in hand with local farmers and using his imagination to extract the most flavor from each ingredient. Behind each dish, Matt strives to create food that is both thoughtful and delicious. When not in the kitchen, Matt can be found spending time with his wife and kids, foraging for new ingredients and finding new (and dangerous) ways to work out.

Michael Barnett

Always happiest around a warm and lively kitchen, Michael has long since shown others affection through food and authentic hospitality. It is with that sense of fondness for serving others that led Michael to help create Homewood.

Michael grew up cooking with his mom and eating as adventurously as his parents would allow. He met his wife, Jessica, while they were studying at the University of Texas and the two of them have been mostly inseparable ever since. During their free time, Michael and Jessica love doing life with their three kids and traveling far and wide.

Pastry Chef

Maggie Huff

A native of Dallas, Maggie’s culinary journey took her to New York to further her pursuits in pastry. Eventually she returned home to Dallas and began creating some of the most inventive and dynamic desserts in the city. While Maggie is known for her work with pastry, she also has a deft hand throughout all aspects of the Homewood kitchen. Additionally, Maggie is crucial in helping Matt and Michael do their jobs better, something they are grateful for each day.

At home, Maggie religiously works the New York Times crossword puzzle, takes care of her band of cats and loves adding to her Rolling Stones collection. She also makes a mean cinnamon roll on the weekends
